Ski Donations

We had a great weekend at the swap gearing up for the winter for our team inventory that will be used to get kids on skis this winter.

We have launched a few new programs to get kids on skis that include the ski-at-school program and the elementary afterschool program.  A big hurdle for these programs are always equipment, we are busting down that barrier by purchasing equipment for them to use.

If you have any old skis, bindings, poles or boots that you think will sit around collecting dust bring them by the training centre and we will add them to our inventory for the winter programs.

Waxing Aprons

For only $39.95 you can look sharp in the waxing hut and protect your fancy ski gear with the TEAM HARDWOOD waxing apron, 3 pockets in the front hold your scrapers and groove tools. Embroidered 2 colour logo and black Fabric ensure it will not be lost in the snow. Order now to ensure arrival before the ski season while helping to support the hardwood team wax box.

We would like to get an order in for next Saturday (Halloween) so we can arrange for delivery by the waxing clinic on November 14. You can pay Sydney when they pick them up. If you could ask people to respond to Sydney by email directly that would be great.

Parents Meeting recap

As a quick recap of this meeting and the National meeting held earlier in the season:

The primary means of communication is via the blogs which can be found on the Team Hardwood website:  http://teamhardwood.ca/   under the documents section.  This area is password protected (winter) and houses lots of great information including parent and athlete resources (team calendar, wax reference, team gear/clothing gear swap/buy and sell, etc).

Emails will be sent out as sparingly as possible to minimize what is coming to your in-boxes and to ensure that when you do receive them you will, hopefully read them and find them useful.  Emails will be sent to update you on upcoming events, races, help needed, changes to plans, etc.  If someone in your family is not receiving emails now, and would like to, please send their email to this address so that we can add them to the distribution lists.  We have only added the addresses that have been given to us this year.

Practice times, race times and locations do change from time to time (much like all other sports)...we find better snow, other opportunities so please check your blogs regularly.  Last minute changes are always sent out via email with as much notice as possible.

Uniform Update:  For those who ordered uniforms...Our uniforms are under production at Louis Garneau now and we expect shipment the week of Nov 30'th so stay tuned for details on delivery date.

Spirit Wear Order:  We are considering putting together a "spirit wear" order for next month (in time for Christmas) and wondered what the interest would be?  We would likely be looking at Team Hardwood Hoodies, Track pants, golf shirts, buffs, travel mugs, and any other thoughts you might have.  Cost would include a small percent toward fundraising which would go towards future camp costs to help keep our camp costs down. Please feel free to reply to this email and let me know your thoughts/interest either way.
